Vincent and Tania Careme of Domaine Vincent Careme have brought their Vouvray know-how to the vineyards of Swartland, in South Africa. The couple are passionate about Chenin Blanc, as Vincent grew up in his family’s vineyards in the Loire Valley and Tania grew up in South Africa’s winelands. The couple make several styles of the varietal, and they firmly believes that the quality of the wine is determined in the vineyard.
Today, they run one of the top estates in Vouvray, and they also make Terre Brulée Chenin from old, dry-farmed, unirrigated vines in South Africa’s vibrant Swartland region. The 2022 offers impeccable quality-to-price ratio.
